Base fee:
  • This registration is for one adult (18 and older) and all children who will be attending the event. A separate registration is required for additional adults.
  • This registration type begins at $20, because it includes two adults. Children (individuals age 18 and under) will be charged at $5 each.

Banned Books Celebration

Literary Fun for the Entire Family!

An event to celebrate intellectual diversity in coordination with the national Banned Books Week. Passages from frequently banned or challenged books will be read aloud by "celebrity readers," including:

  • Julius Anthony, Founder and President of St. Louis Black Authors 
  • Keith Dudding, Radio DJ at KDHX 
  • Dr. Betty Porter Walls, Harris-Stowe State University's Educator of the Year 
  • Jill Gruber, Director Education Outreach and Collections, Lion Forge Press 
  • Erin Quick, Executive Director of St. Louis Poetry Center
  • And more...

The event will be emceed. All proceeds will be used for scholarships for youth to attend the 2019 Educating for Change Curriculum Conference. 


A dessert bar + drinks will be available.

The first 25 registrants will receive 2 free drink and dessert coupons.
